July 2022

Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of July. Trinidad was extremely wet to normal; Tobago normal to exceptionally wet; Grenada, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St Kitts and St Maarten normal; Barbados moderately dry to normal; St Vincent exceptional to moderately dry; Saint Lucia normal to moderately wet; Martinique, Anguilla and St Croix slightly wet to normal and St Thomas moderately wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to exceptionally dry. Aruba and Curacao slightly wet to normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately wet in the extreme west and east to extremely wet in central areas. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in southwestern Haiti to exceptionally wet in central Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to moderately dry in the extreme east. Grand Cayman was slightly wet. Cuba ranged from normal in central areas to extremely dry in west central areas and severely dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to exceptionally dry and Belize was predominantly normal ranging to slightly dry in eastern and central areas.

May to July 2022

Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean over the three month period. Trinidad ranged from extremely wet to normal; Tobago slight to very wet; Grenada slightly wet to normal; Barbados, Martinique and Dominica moderately dry to normal; St Vincent severe to slightly dry; Saint Lucia normal to moderately wet; Guadeloupe moderate to severely dry; Antigua and St Thomas predominantly moderate to slightly dry; St Kitts slight to severely dry; St Maarten extremely dry to normal; Anguilla slightly dry to moderately wet and St Croix moderate to  predominantly severely dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to slightly dry. Aruba was slightly wet and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico was slight to moderately dry. Hispaniola ranged from exceptional to predominantly dry in southern and central Haiti and to moderately wet in central Dominican Republic. Jamaica was severely dry in southern areas to normal in the northwest. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from very wet in the extreme north to moderately dry in the west and normal in eastern areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize ranged from moderately dry in the west to normal.

February to July 2022

Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean over the six month period. Trinidad ranged from exceptionally wet to normal; Tobago moderate to very wet; Grenada and Saint Lucia slightly wet to normal; Barbados, Dominica and St Thomas normal; St Vincent exceptional to moderately dry; Martinique, Guadeloupe and St Kitts normal to moderately dry; Antigua and St Croix moderate to slightly dry; St Maarten extremely dry to normal; Anguilla moderately dry to moderately wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to moderately dry. Aruba was slightly wet to normal and Curacao was moderately wet. Puerto Rico was normal in western areas to moderately wet in the northeast. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in southern Haiti to slightly wet in northern Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to moderately dry in the extreme east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the extreme north to normal in the west and east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to slightly dry and Belize ranged from moderately dry in the west to very wet in the north.

August 2021 to July 2022

Apart from Trinidad that ranged from exceptionally wet to normal, normal to below normal conditions prevailed throughout the eastern Caribbean over the twelve month period.  Tobago and St Thomas were normal; Grenada normal to moderately dry in the north; Barbados and St Kitts severe to slightly dry; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia slight to moderately dry; Martinique moderate to exceptionally dry northwest to east; Dominica slight to extremely dry; Guadeloupe severe to exceptionally dry; Antigua exceptional to extremely dry; St Maarten exceptionally dry to normal south to north; Anguilla slightly dry to moderately wet and St Croix moderate to severely dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from slightly dry to exceptionally wet. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally dry in the extreme south of Haiti to normal in northern areas of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet in the west to extremely dry in the east. Grand Cayman ranged from normal to slightly wet. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in the extreme north to extremely dry in the west and slightly dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to moderately dry and Belize was predominantly normal ranging to moderately dry in the west.

August 2020 to July 2022

Over the two year period, apart from in the southernmost islands, mainly normal to below normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad ranged from exceptionally wet to normal; Tobago normal to predominantly slightly wet; Grenada, Barbados and St Thomas normal; St Vincent extreme to severely dry; Saint Lucia and St Croix moderate to slightly dry; Martinique moderate to severely dry; Dominica moderately dry to normal; Guadeloupe normal to exceptionally dry; Antigua extreme to exceptionally dry; St Kitts slight to severely dry; St Maarten extremely dry to normal and Anguilla slightly dry to moderately wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly dry conditions in the extreme southwest. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally dry in the extreme south to normal. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to extremely dry in the east.  Grand Cayman was slight to moderately wet. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in central areas to moderately dry in the west and normal in the east. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally wet to slightly dry and Belize was normal in central areas ranging to slightly dry in the south and moderately wet in the northeast.
