August 2026

Apart from Anguilla that was normal to moderately wet, conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were mostly normal to below normal during the month of August. Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Guadeloupe and Antigua normal; Grenada and St Vincent were severe to extremely dry; Saint Lucia severe to moderately dry; Martinique slight to exceptionally dry; Dominica severely dry to normal; St Kitts moderately dry to normal; St Maarten normal to exceptionally dry; Anguilla exceptionally dry to slightly wet; St Thomas moderately dry; and St Croix slight to moderately dry. In the Guianas, conditions were mostly exceptionally dry in northeast Guyana, western half of French Guiana and southeast Suriname to moderately wet in northern Suriname. Aruba was slightly dry to normal and Curacao moderate to slightly dry. Puerto Rico was normal to exceptionally dry from west to east. The Dominican Republic ranged from normal in the southwest to moderately dry in central areas. Jamaica was extremely wet in central areas ranging to exceptionally dry in the west and to severely dry in the east. Grand Cayman was mostly normal to slightly dry. Cuba was normal to extremely dry. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally dry to moderately wet and Belize mostly normal ranging to slightly dry in central areas and to slightly wet in the north.

 

June to August 2026

Predominantly normal to below normal conditions were experienced over the three month period throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was normal; Tobago and St Thomas slight to moderately dry; Grenada moderate to extremely dry; Barbados and Anguilla moderately dry to normal; St Vincent exceptionally dry; Saint Lucia extreme to severely dry; Martinique and St Maarten severe to exceptionally dry; Dominica exceptional to extremely dry; Guadeloupe severe to slightly dry; Antigua moderately dry; St Kitts moderate to exceptionally dry and St Croix severe to extremely dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in northwestern Guyana to exceptionally dry in the vicinity of the northern Suriname/French Guiana border. Aruba was slightly dry and Curacao moderately dry. Puerto Rico was normal in the southwest, ranging to exceptionally dry in northeastern areas. The Dominican Republic ranged from moderate to extremely dry. Jamaica was exceptionally wet in the north ranging to exceptionally dry in the west and to moderately dry in the east. Grand Cayman was severely dry. Cuba was exceptionally dry in central areas ranging to normal in the west and to slightly wet in the extreme southeast and to slightly dry in the east. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally dry to normal and Belize mostly normal to severely dry on the northeastern coast.

 

March to August 2026

Apart from Dominica and Guadeloupe that were moderately dry to slightly wet, mostly normal to below normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean during the six month period. Trinidad was normal to moderately dry; Tobago moderate to severely dry; Grenada, Saint Lucia and Antigua moderate to severely dry; St Vincent exceptional to extremely dry; Martinique severe to slightly dry; St Kitts severe to extremely dry; St Maarten extreme to slightly dry; Anguilla slightly dry to mostly normal; St Croix slightly dry and St Thomas normal. In the Guianas, conditions varied from exceptionally wet in northern areas of Guyana and southwest Suriname to moderately dry in western Suriname. Aruba slightly dry and Curacao moderately dry. Puerto Rico was slightly wet in the west to severely dry in eastern areas. The Dominican Republic was normal. Jamaica was exceptionally wet in northcentral areas ranging to slightly dry in the west and to severely dry in the east. Grand Cayman was extremely dry. Cuba was exceptionally dry in the north ranging to normal in the west and to moderately wet in the southeast. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally dry to normal and Belize predominantly normal ranging to slightly dry in the northeast.

 

September 2025 to August 2026

Apart from Dominica that was exceptionally dry to moderately wet and Guadeloupe that was moderately wet to moderately dry, conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were mostly normal to below normal over the twelve month period. Trinidad, Barbados and Antigua were slight to moderately dry; Tobago severely dry; Grenada extreme to exceptionally dry; St Vincent exceptionally dry; Saint Lucia predominantly exceptional to extremely dry; Martinique exceptional to moderately dry; St Kitts moderate to severely dry; St Maarten moderately dry to normal; Anguilla slightly dry to mostly normal; St Croix slightly dry and St Thomas normal. In the Guianas, conditions varied from exceptionally wet in northwestern Guyana and the southern Suriname/French Guiana border to exceptionally dry in western Suriname. Aruba was moderate to slightly dry and Curacao was predominantly severe to moderately dry. Puerto Rico was moderately wet to moderately dry west to east. The Dominican Republic was normal in the north to moderately wet in the southwest and east. Jamaica was extremely dry in the west to normal in the east and slightly wet in the north. Grand Cayman was extremely dry. Cuba was moderately dry in west central areas, ranging to severely dry in the extreme east and to moderately wet in the southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to very wet and Belize mostly normal with slightly dry conditions on the southwestern border and to moderately wet in central areas.

 

September 2024 to August 2026

Mostly normal to below normal conditions were experienced over the two year period throughout the eastern Caribbean, with a few pockets of exception. Trinidad and Antigua were normal to slightly dry; Tobago moderately dry; Grenada severe to exceptionally dry; Barbados and St Maarten moderately dry to normal; St Vincent exceptionally dry; Saint Lucia and Martinique exceptional to moderately dry; Dominica exceptionally dry to moderately wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet to moderately dry; St Kitts moderate to slightly dry; Anguilla normal to slightly wet; St Croix severe to moderately dry and St Thomas normal to slightly wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in northwestern Guyana to exceptionally dry in the vicinity of the southcentral Suriname/ French Guiana border.
