Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of February. Trinidad, Barbados, Saint Lucia and Martinique moderately wet to normal; Tobago and Dominica normal to very wet; Grenada slightly wet to normal; St Vincent, St Maarten, Anguilla and St Thomas normal; Guadeloupe extremely wet in the west to moderately dry in the east; Antigua slight to moderately dry; St Kitts slightly dry and St Croix slightly dry to normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from very wet in the vicinity of the southern border of Guyana/Suriname to moderately dry in northeastern Guyana and northern French Guiana. Curacao moderately wet and Aruba normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in western areas to slightly wet in the northeast. Hispaniola ranged from severely dry to slightly wet. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in southern areas to very wet in the west and to moderately wet in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba was predominantly normal ranging to slightly dry in the extreme east and to moderately wet in the southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to slightly dry and Belize ranged from severely dry in the west to normal in eastern and northeastern areas.
December 2020 to February 2021
Conditions in the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to below normal during the three month period. Trinidad, Saint Lucia, Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; Tobago severely dry to normal; Grenada and Anguilla normal; Barbados slight to moderately wet; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Martinique normal to extremely dry; Antigua moderate to severely dry; St Kitts slight to moderately dry; St Maarten moderately dry to normal; St Croix slightly dry and St Thomas moderately dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal in northeastern Guyana, northern Suriname and French Guiana to exceptionally wet in southeastern Suriname. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the extreme southwest to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from normal to extremely dry. Jamaica ranged from extremely dry in the south to moderately wet in the north. Grand Cayman ranged from moderate to slightly dry west to east. Cuba was predominantly moderately dry ranging from slightly dry in the extreme west to slightly wet in the southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to moderately dry and Belize was moderately dry in the south to extremely wet in the north.
September 2020 to February 2021
During the six month period, mixed conditions were seen throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was moderately wet to moderately dry; Tobago , Grenada, St Kitts slightly dry to normal; Barbados very to slightly wet; St Vincent and St Croix moderate to slightly dry; Saint Lucia normal to slightly wet; Martinique moderately wet to severely dry; Dominica normal to extremely wet; Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Antigua, St Maarten, Anguilla and St Thomas normal. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal in the northern Suriname/French Guiana border to exceptionally wet in the vicinity of the south central border of Suriname/ French Guiana. Aruba was normal and Curacao slightly wet to normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to normal in the east. Hispaniola was predominantly normal ranging to moderately wet in northwestern Haiti and to severely dry in the extreme southwestern Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly dry in the west to extremely wet in the south and normal in the northeast. Grand Cayman was slightly wet. Cuba ranged from slightly wet in the southeast to very wet in northern areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize ranged from normal in the south to slightly dry in the west and exceptionally wet in the north.
March 2020 to February 2021
The eastern Caribbean was predominantly normal to below normal during the twelve month period. Trinidad normal to moderately dry from the southwest to the northeast; Tobago and St Croix slightly dry; Grenada and St Kitts slight to moderately dry; Barbados normal to slightly wet west to east; St Vincent severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Dominica normal to severely dry; Martinique normal to extremely dry; Guadeloupe, Antigua, Anguilla and St Thomas normal; St Maarten slightly dry to normal. In The Guianas, conditions ranged from normal in northern areas and in the extreme southeast of French Guiana to exceptionally wet in northeast French Guiana. Aruba normal and Curacao slightly wet to normal. Puerto Rico was normal. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in the extreme southwest of the Dominican Republic to normal in western areas and the extreme east. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the west to moderately wet in the northwest and southeast. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from very wet in the west to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was normal in the south, severely dry in the west and exceptionally wet in the north.
March 2019 to February 2021
Over the two year period conditions in the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to below normal. Trinidad ranged from predominantly severely dry to moderately dry in the extreme south, southwest and northeastern areas; Tobago and St Kitts normal to moderately dry; Grenada , St Maarten and St Thomas normal to slightly dry; Barbados moderate to slightly dry south to north; St Vincent extreme to severely dry; Saint Lucia severe to exceptionally dry south to north; Martinique extreme to slightly dry; Dominica severely dry to normal south to north; Guadeloupe normal in the west to extremely dry in the east; Antigua normal; Anguilla normal to slightly wet and St. Croix moderately dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from very wet in northern portions of Guyana and northeast French Guiana to moderately dry on the northern border of Suriname/French Guiana and northeastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal to slightly dry and Curacao normal. Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the extreme southwest to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from slight to exceptionally dry. Jamaica was normal. Grand Cayman was moderate to slightly dry. Cuba ranged from very wet in the northwest to exceptionally dry in eastern areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to extremely dry. Belize ranged from normal in central areas to exceptionally dry in the west and moderately dry in the north.
