September 2024

Mixed conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean during the month of September. Trinidad and Antigua were slightly wet to normal; Tobago, Saint Lucia, Dominica and St Kitts slightly dry to normal; Grenada, St Vincent, St Croix and St Thomas normal; Barbados extreme to exceptionally wet; Martinique slight to very wet; Guadeloupe slightly dry to slightly wet; St Maarten slight to moderately wet and Anguilla moderately wet. Rainfall in the Guianas was largely below normal and ranged from exceptionally dry to moderately wet. Aruba was very wet and Curacao was moderately wet. Puerto Rico ranged from exceptionally dry in the south to normal in the north. Hispaniola was predominantly normal ranging to slightly dry in northwestern Haiti. Jamaica ranged from exceptionally wet in the extreme south to normal in the west. Grand Cayman was moderate to slightly wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to exceptionally dry in east central areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet and Belize from moderately dry in the south to normal in the north.

July to September 2024

Over the three month period conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to above normal, apart from St Croix which was severe to slightly dry. Trinidad was very wet to normal; Tobago, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St Kitts and St Thomas were normal; Barbados slight to moderately wet; St Vincent slightly wet; Saint Lucia normal to slightly wet; Martinique and St Maarten moderately wet; Dominica moderately wet in the south to normal in the north and Anguilla moderate to very wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from very wet in southern Guyana to exceptionally dry in northeastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal and Curacao normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico was exceptionally dry to moderately wet. Hispaniola ranged from normal in Haiti to very wet in eastern areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet in the south to predominantly normal. Grand Cayman was moderate to mostly slightly wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to slightly dry on the northeastern coast. Northern Bahamas ranged from slightly dry to exceptionally wet and Belize was moderately dry in the south ranging to predominantly normal in the north.

 

April to September 2024

During the six month period mostly normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was severely dry to normal; Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua and St Thomas normal; Martinique normal to mostly slightly wet; St Kitts slightly dry to mostly normal; St Croix moderate to slightly dry; St Maarten slight to very wet and Anguilla very to extremely wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana and the northwestern coastal areas of French Guiana to moderately dry in northern Suriname and eastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal and Curacao was normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from normal to moderately wet south to north. Hispaniola ranged from very wet in the extreme south of the Dominican Republic to normal in western Haiti and northern areas. Jamaica extremely wet to normal west to east. Grand Cayman extreme to predominantly very wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to moderately dry on the northern coast and to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to exceptionally wet and Belize from severe to slightly dry.

 

October 2023 to September 2024

Mixed conditions were experienced over the twelve month period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad ranged from normal to moderately dry; Tobago and St Croix moderately dry; Grenada, St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Dominica and Guadeloupe were normal; Barbados and Antigua moderately wet; Martinique, St Maarten and Anguilla normal to predominantly slightly wet; St Kitts slight to moderately wet and St Thomas slightly dry to normal. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally dry in the vicinity of the central border of Suriname/ French Guiana to exceptionally wet on the northern coastlal border of Suriname/French Guiana. Aruba was slightly wet and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from normal to extremely wet south to north. Hispaniola ranged from severely dry in the north to normal in the southwest of Haiti and to moderately wet in the extreme east of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet to normal west to east. Grand Cayman was extreme to very wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet to normal west to east. Northern Bahamas was moderate to extremely wet and Belize was moderately wet to normal.

 

October 2022 to September 2024

Over the two year period predominantly normal to below normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean except for Antigua which was normal to slightly wet and St. Croix that was severe to predominantly moderately dry. Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Martinique, St Kitts, St Maarten, Anguilla and St Thomas were normal; Dominica ranged from normal to moderately dry; Guadeloupe ranged from slight to severely dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet to moderately dry. Aruba was slightly wet to normal and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet from southeast to northwest. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in northern Haiti to moderately wet in eastern Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet to slightly dry west to east. Grand Cayman was moderate to mostly slightly wet. Cuba was exceptionally wet to severely dry west to east. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet and Belize from moderately wet to severely dry south to north.
