Mixed conditions were experienced across the eastern Caribbean over the month of June. Trinidad was extremely dry to moderately wet; Tobago moderately wet; Grenada, Barbados, Martinique and St Kitts normal; St Vincent slightly dry; Saint Lucia moderate to slightly dry; Dominica and Antigua were slight to mostly moderately wet, Guadeloupe moderate to mostly slightly wet; St Maarten slightly dry to normal; Anguilla normal to moderately wet; St Croix severe to extremely dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in areas of Guyana and Suriname to extremely dry in northern Suriname and southeastern French Guiana. Aruba was slightly dry and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly wet conditions in the extreme southwest and slightly dry areas in the extreme east. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally wet on the extreme southern tip of the Dominican Republic to normal in the extreme west and east. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to extremely dry in the east. Grand Cayman was exceptionally wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to normal in eastern areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from extreme to exceptionally wet and Belize from severely dry in southern areas to extremely wet in the north.
April to June 2024
Predominantly normal to below normal rainfall was experienced over the three month period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was extremely dry to slightly wet; Tobago slightly wet; Grenada, Barbados, St Vincent, Dominica, St Croix normal; Saint Lucia, Guadeloupe, Antigua and St Kitts normal to slightly dry; Martinique slightly dry; St Maarten and Anguilla moderately wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet in southwestern Guyana and northern coastal areas of Suriname and French Guiana to slightly dry in eastern French Guiana. Aruba was moderately dry, but Curacao ranged from normal to moderately wet. Puerto Rico ranged from extremely wet to normal from west to east. Hispaniola ranged from normal to exceptionally wet in southern areas of the Dominican Republic to normal in the west and slightly wet in the north. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet to normal from west to east. Grand Cayman was extremely wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from very to exceptionally wet and Belize from exceptionally dry in the south to moderately wet in the north.
January to June 2024
Apart from St Maarten and Anguilla that were moderately wet, mostly normal to below normal conditions prevailed over the six month period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad, Tobago, St Vincent and Saint Lucia were slightly dry to normal; Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St Kitts, St Croix and St Thomas normal; Martinique moderate to slightly dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana to exceptionally dry on the Suriname/ French Guiana central border. Aruba was moderately dry and Curacao normal. Puerto Rico ranged from very to slightly wet from west to east. Hispaniola ranged from normal in most of Haiti and northern areas of the Dominican Republic to extremely wet in the extreme southeast of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet to normal from west to east. Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Cuba was exceptionally wet in the west ranging to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas was extreme to exceptionally wet and Belize was extremely dry in the south to slightly wet in the north.
July 2023 to June 2024
Over the twelve month period conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to below normal. Trinidad, Grenada and St Vincent were slightly dry; Tobago, Martinique, St Kitts and St Croix slight to moderately dry; Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe and Antigua normal; Saint Lucia moderately dry; St Maarten normal to slightly wet; Anguilla slightly wet and St Thomas slightly dry to normal. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana to extremely dry in northern Guyana and southeastern French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were slightly dry. Puerto Rico ranged from normal to moderately wet from west to east. Hispaniola ranged from normal in Haiti to exceptionally wet in central areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica was severely dry to normal from west to east. Grand Cayman was slightly wet to normal. Cuba exceptionally wet to moderately dry west to east. Northern Bahamas was moderate to exceptionally wet and Belize normal.
July 2022 to June 2024
Normal to below normal rainfall was experienced over the two year period throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados and St Kitts were normal to slightly dry; Grenada, Saint Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Antigua, St Maarten and Anguilla normal; St Vincent and St Croix moderate to slightly dry; Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry and St Thomas slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas were mostly normal ranging to exceptionally wet in southern Guyana and the northern Suriname / French Guiana border, and to moderately dry in north central Guyana. Aruba was moderately wet and Curacao moderate to slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from normal to moderately dry from west to east. Hispaniola ranged from very wet in northern Haiti to normal in southwestern Haiti and northern areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica and Grand Cayman were normal. Cuba ranged from extremely dry in west central areas to exceptionally wet in the extreme west and to extremely wet in the east. Northern Bahamas was moderate to exceptionally wet and Belize was moderately dry to slightly wet from south to north.
