Conditions were mixed in the eastern Caribbean for the month of March. Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Antigua and St. Thomas were all normal or predominantly so; Barbados normal to slightly wet; St. Vincent very to extremely wet; Martinique slight to moderately dry; Dominica moderately dry; Guadeloupe slightly dry St. Kitts moderate to severely dry; St. Maarten severely dry; and St. Croix severe to extremely dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in parts of southern Guyana and much of French Guiana to normal in northeastern Guyana. Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao slight to moderately wet. Puerto Rico was normal to slightly dry, but Hispaniola ranged from normal in the west, south and east to very wet in north-western Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal, with above normal rainfall in the southern and western extremities, and below normal in the norther extremities, but Grand Cayman was normal. Northern Bahamas was normal to moderately dry, while Belize was predominantly normal apart from the extreme north that was slightly dry and the extreme south that was slightly wet.

January to March 2019

For the three month period, normal to below normal rainfall was experienced in the islands of the Caribbean. Trinidad was slight to severely dry; Tobago and Antigua moderately dry; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados severe to extremely dry; St. Vincent and Guadeloupe normal to slightly dry; St. Lucia and St. Kitts moderate to severely dry; Martinique extreme to exceptionally dry; St. Maarten severely dry; St. Croix severe to extremely dry; and St. Thomas normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in northern Guyana and much of French Guiana to normal in northeastern and southern Guyana and western Suriname. Aruba was exceptionally dry, but Curacao moderately dry. Puerto was moderately dry to normal from northwest to southeast, but Hispaniola from slightly wet in the north to severely dry in eastern Dominican Republic and to slightly dry in southwest Haiti. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to slightly dry in the north, but Grand Cayman very wet. Northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet and Belize from severely dry in the east to normal to the north and south.

October 2018 to March 2019

Apart from Guadeloupe that was normal to moderately wet, rainfall in the islands of the eastern Caribbean was normal to below normal for the six month period. Trinidad was normal to moderately dry from south to north; Tobago, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten; Barbados severe to extremely dry; St. Vincent and St. Thomas normal; Martinique severely dry; Antigua slightly dry; and St. Croix moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in northern Guyana and parts of French Guiana to normal in eastern and southern Guyana and western Suriname. Aruba was normal to slightly dry and Curacao were normal. April 2018 to March 2019

Normal to below normal rainfall was experienced in the islands of eastern Caribbean for the twelve month period. Trinidad was slightly wet to extremely dry; Tobago slight to extremely dry; Grenada and St. Kitts slightly dry; Barbados severe to extremely dry; St. Vincent, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Croix moderately dry; St. Lucia and Martinique moderate to severely dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; and St. Thomas normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately dry in northern Guyana, eastern Suriname and parts of French Guiana to moderately wet in southern Guyana. Aruba was slight to moderately dry, but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the north to normal in the south, but Hispaniola was slightly dry in northern Dominican Republic to exceptionally dry in the south and west of the island. Jamaica was predominantly normal apart from the extremities of the southwest that was slight to moderately wet and the north and east that were slight to moderately dry, while Grand Cayman was normal to slightly dry. Northern Bahamas was normal to slightly wet, but Belize from extremely dry in the southeast to normal in the south.

Normal to below normal rainfall was experienced for the month in the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad, Barbados and Dominica were normal to moderately dry; Grenada, St. Lucia and Antigua were slight to moderately dry; Tobago normal to slightly dry; St Vincent severe to extremely dry; Martinique moderate to extremely dry; Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, St. Croix and St. Thomas normal; and St. Maarten moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in central French Guiana to normal from the eastern half of Guyana across to central Suriname. Aruba and Curacao were moderately dry. Both Puerto Rico and Hispaniola were predominantly normal, apart from western Puerto Rico that was slight to moderately dry, southern Hispaniola that was slight to moderately dry and eastern Hispaniola that was slight to exceptionally dry. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from slightly dry in the north to moderately wet in the east, while Grand Cayman was slightly wet. Rainfall in Cuba was predominantly normal apart from central areas that were slight to moderately wet and the extreme northwest that was slightly dry, but northern Bahamas was slight to very wet. Conditions in Belize ranged from moderately wet in the north to moderately dry in eastern and central areas.

December 2018 to February 2019

For the three month period, normal to below normal rainfall prevailed in the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad, Barbados and St. Vincent were extreme to exceptionally dry; Tobago severe to extremely dry; Grenada slight to moderately dry; St. Lucia, St. Maarten and St. Croix moderately dry; Martinique severely dry; Dominica and Antigua moderate to severely dry; Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; and St. Kitts slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in northern Guyana to slightly wet around the southern Guyana/Suriname border and southeast French Guiana, with otherwise normal to extremely dry conditions in Suriname and French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were severely dry. Normal to extremely dry conditions were experienced in Puerto Rico from southeast to northwest, and Hispaniola normal to exceptionally dry from north to south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the south to slightly dry in the extreme northeast, while Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Western Cuba was normal to moderately wet, while the east was normal to moderately dry. Northern Bahamas was slight to very wet. Conditions in Belize ranged from normal in the north to extremely dry from central to southeastern areas.

 

September 2018 to February 2019

Apart from Guadeloupe that was slightly dry to slightly wet, rainfall totals in the islands of the eastern Caribbean were normal to below normal for the six month period. Trinidad was normal to severely dry from south to north; Tobago and Dominica normal to moderately; Grenada, St. Maarten and St. Thomas slightly dry; Barbados, St. Lucia, and Antigua slight to moderately dry; St. Vincent and St. Croix moderately dry; Martinique severe to extremely dry; and St. Kitts normal to slightly dry. Though most of the Guianas had normal rainfall, portions of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana ranged from slight to extremely dry. Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from extremely dry in the west to normal in the southeast, but Hispaniola ranged from normal to exceptionally dry from north to south. Though Jamaica was predominantly normal, the extreme east and northwest was slight to moderately dry and the extreme southwest slightly wet, and Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba was normal to moderately dry, while the northern Bahamas was predominantly normal. Conditions in Belize ranged from normal in the west and south to extremely dry in the southeast.

 

March 2018 to February 2019

The twelve month period was dominated by normal to below normal rainfall in the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was normal to extremely dry; Tobago slight to exceptionally dry; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados, Martinique, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Croix moderately dry; St. Vincent and St. Lucia moderate to severely dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to severely dry; St. Kitts slight to moderately dry; and St. Thomas normal. The majority of the Guianas were normal, but with moderately dry to moderately wet conditions in Guyana, and from slightly dry at the central Suriname/French Guiana border to moderately wet in the two countries. Aruba was moderately dry, but Curacao normal. Puerto ranged from severely dry in the west to slightly dry in the east, but Hispaniola was slight to exceptionally dry from north to south. Jamaica was predominantly normal, except for the extreme west that was slightly wet, the extreme northwest and east that were slight to moderately dry. Grand Cayman was slightly dry. Cuba was normal apart from in the west that was slightly wet, and northern Bahamas was normal to slightly wet. Conditions in Belize ranged from normal in the south to extremely dry in the southeast.

Apart from the northwest parts of the basin and small areas in the southern Guianas, the Caribbean would have experienced normal to below normal rainfall. Trinidad ranged from normal in the southwest to exceptionally dry in the northeast; Tobago moderate to exceptionally dry from east to west; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados severe to exceptionally dry; St. Vincent severely dry; St. Lucia moderate to severely dry; Martinique and St. Kitts moderately dry; Dominica normal to severely dry; Antigua and slight to moderately dry; Guadeloupe, St. Maarten, Anguilla and St. Thomas normal; and St. Croix severe to extremely dry. The Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in northern Guyana to slightly wet in southern Guyana/Suriname border and southeastern French Guiana, with northern French Guiana slight to moderately dry. Both Aruba and Curacao were exceptionally dry. Puerto Rico was normal to moderately dry from south to north, while Hispaniola was predominantly normal, but with the southwest Haiti being slight to severely dry, and portions of eastern Dominican Republic being slightly wet. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to moderately dry in the east, while Grand Cayman was extremely wet. Conditions in Cuba ranged from normal in the east to moderately wet in western areas; while northern Bahamas slight to very wet. Belize ranged from moderately dry in the south to normal in the north.

November 2018 to January 2019

For the three month period, apart from Guadeloupe that ranged from normal to very wet and Dominica from slight to moderately wet, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced normal to below normal rainfall. Trinidad was moderately dry in the south to exceptionally dry in the north; Tobago extreme to exceptionally dry; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados slight to severely dry from northwest to southeast; St. Vincent moderate to extremely dry; St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Thomas normal; Martinique normal to moderately dry; and St. Kitts and St. Croix normal to slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally dry in northern Guyana to exceptionally wet in southeastern parts of French Guiana. Aruba was moderately dry and Curacao severely dry. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the northwest to normal in the southeast, but Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally dry in southwest Haiti to extremely dry in eastern Dominican republic. Jamaica was moderately wet in the west to moderately dry in the east, while Grand Cayman was normal. Western Cuba was normal to moderately wet and the east was slight to extremely dry; but northern Bahamas was normal to slightly wet. Belize ranged from normal in the north to moderately dry in the southeast.

 

August 2018 to January 2019

Though some parts of the eastern Caribbean experienced above normal rainfall for the six month period, rainfall in the sub-region was predominantly normal to below normal. Trinidad ranged from moderately wet in the south to severely dry in the northeast; Tobago and Barbados normal to moderately dry; Grenada and St. Thomas normal; St. Vincent and St. Croix moderately dry; St. Lucia slight to moderately dry; Martinique moderate to extremely dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe slightly wet to slightly dry; Antigua, St. Kitts, Anguilla and St. marten normal to slightly dry. In the Guianas, Guyana ranged from severely dry in the north to slightly wet in the south, with normal to moderately dry in Suriname and moderately wet to severely dry in French Guiana. Aruba was slightly dry but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the west to normal in the south east, while Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally dry in southern Haiti to slightly dry in northeastern Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal except for northwestern areas that were slight to moderately dry and eastern areas that were slight to severely dry, but Grand Cayman was normal. Conditions in Cuba ranged from moderately dry in central areas to slightly wet in the west and to normal in the east, but northern Bahamas was moderate to slightly dry from west to east. Belize ranged from moderately wet in the south to extremely dry in the southeast and to normal to the north.

February 2018 to January 2019

Apart from Trinidad that ranged from slightly wet in the south moderately dry in the north, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced normal to below normal rainfall totals for the twelve month period. Tobago was normal to extremely dry from east to west; Grenada, Dominica and St. Thomas normal; Barbados, Antigua, St. Maarten and St. Croix moderately dry; St. Vincent, St. Lucia and Martinique slight to moderately dry; Martinique from slightly wet to exceptionally dry; Guadeloupe predominantly normal apart from areas in the extreme east that were slight to moderately dry; and St. Kitts slight to moderately dry. In the Guianas, Guyana ranged from moderately dry in northeastern areas to moderately wet in the south, while Suriname ranged from normal to moderately wet, and French Guiana normal to very wet. Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the southwest to normal in the northeast, but Hispaniola from exceptionally dry in the south to slightly dry in the northern Dominican Republic Conditions in Jamaica ranged from slightly wet in the west to moderately dry in the east, but Grand Cayman was slightly dry. Cuba’s rainfall was predominantly normal, apart from areas in the extreme west that were slight to moderately wet, and in portions of the east that were slight to moderately dry, while northern Bahamas was normal. Belize ranged from extremely dry in the southeast to normal in the south and northeast.

Conditions in the Guianas ranged from severely dry in northern Guyana to very wet in eastern French Guiana, and with most of Suriname being normal. Aruba was moderately dry, while Curacao was predominantly slightly dry. Puerto Rico was normal to moderately dry, but Hispaniola ranged from normal in the north to extremely dry in the southwest. Jamaica was moderately wet in the south to slightly dry in the west and east, but Grand Cayman was normal. Western Cuba was normal to moderately wet and eastern Cuba normal to severely dry; but northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet. Belize ranged from severely dry in the west to normal in the north.

October to December 2018

For the three month period, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced mixed rainfall amounts. Trinidad was normal apart from the extreme north that was slightly dry; Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent, Antigua, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten were normal: Barbados moderately dry; St. Lucia, Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Martinique slight to moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from severely dry in northern Guyana to extremely wet in eastern French Guiana, with Suriname and most of Guyana being normal. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the west to normal in the east, but Hispaniola ranged moderately dry in much of the islands to extremely dry in southwest, south and southeast. Jamaica was slightly wet in the southwest to moderately dry in the northwest and east, while Grand Cayman was severely dry. Western Cuba was normal to slightly dry and eastern Cuba moderately wet to moderately dry, and northern Bahamas normal to moderately dry. Belize was normal apart from slightly wet central areas.

 

July to December 2018

Apart from Guadeloupe that was slightly dry to moderately wet and Trinidad that was moderately dry to moderately wet, the islands of the eastern Caribbean received normal to below normal rainfall during the six month period. Tobago and St. Lucia were normal to moderately dry; Grenada normal; Barbados severely dry to normal from northwest to southeast; St. Vincent slight to moderately dry; St. Lucia normal to moderately dry; Martinique moderate to severely dry; Dominica, Antigua and St. Kitts normal to slightly dry; Guadeloupe moderately wet to moderately dry from west to east. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately dry near Georgetown to moderately wet in southwest Guyana and to extremely wet in eastern French Guiana, with the remainder of the region being normal. Aruba was normal to slightly dry, but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from extremely dry in the west to slightly dry in the east, but Hispaniola ranged from slightly dry in the northeast to exceptionally dry in the south and southwest. Jamaica ranged from normal in central areas to severely dry in the extreme northwest, while Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Cuba ranged from moderately dry in west central and central areas to normal in the west and east, while northern Bahamas normal to moderately dry. Conditions in Belize ranged from normal in the south to moderately dry in the northwest and north.

 

January to December 2018

For the year 2018, the islands of the eastern Caribbean received mixed rainfall amounts. Trinidad ranged from moderately dry in the north to moderately wet in the south; Tobago moderately dry to normal from west to east; Grenada normal; Barbados and St. Kitts slightly dry; St. Lucia normal to moderately dry; Martinique normal to slightly dry; Dominica normal to slightly wet; Guadeloupe slightly wet to moderately dry from west to east; Antigua slight to moderately dry; and St. Maarten moderately dry. Most of the Guianas received normal rainfall amounts, ranged to moderately dry near Georgetown, to moderately wet in southern Guyana and to very wet in eastern French Guiana, Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico was normal to slightly dry, but Hispaniola ranged from normal in the north to exceptionally dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet moderately dry, but Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Western Cuba was slightly wet to slightly dry, and eastern normal to moderately wet. Northern Bahamas was normal to slightly wet. Belize was predominantly normal, with slight to extremely dry areas in the southeast.

For the month of November, the southern portion of the eastern chain of islands experienced normal to below normal rainfall, while the remainder of the eastern chain experienced normal to above normal rainfall. Trinidad was normal to severely dry from south to north; Tobago slight to moderately dry; Grenada, Barbados, St. Kitts, Anguilla, and St. Maarten normal; St. Vincent normal to slightly dry; St. Lucia normal to moderately wet from north to south; Martinique normal to slightly wet; Dominica moderate to very wet; Guadeloupe moderate to extremely wet; and Antigua slight to moderately wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately dry in southern Suriname and southeast Guyana to extremely wet in northern and eastern French Guiana and southwestern Guyana. Aruba was normal, but Curacao slight to moderately dry. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the west to normal in the east; while Hispaniola was predominantly normal apart from the southwest Haiti that was slight to extremely dry and eastern Dominican Republic that was slight to exceptionally dry. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from extremely wet in the west to exceptionally dry in the east; but Grand Cayman was slight to moderately dry. Cuba ranged from normal in the west to exceptionally dry in the southeast, while northern Bahamas was normal to moderately dry. Belize was normal to moderately wet from east to west.

September to November 2018

For the three month period, apart from Martinique that was moderately dry, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced normal to above normal rainfall. Trinidad, Tobago, Dominica and Guadeloupe were normal to moderately wet; Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately wet in northern and southwest Guyana and northern French Guiana, to slightly dry around the northeastern border of Suriname with French Guiana. Aruba was normal, but Curacao normal to slightly wet. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the west to normal in the east; while Hispaniola ranged from normal in the north to exceptionally dry in eastern Dominican Republic and to extremely dry in southwestern Haiti. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to severely dry in the north and east, but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from normal in western and northeastern areas to extremely dry in west central areas; but northern Bahamas was normal to severely dry. Belize ranged from moderately wet in the west to moderately dry in the north.

 

June to November 2018

Mixed conditions were experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean for the six month period. Trinidad ranged from moderately dry in the north to very wet in the south; Tobago severely dry to normal from west to east; Grenada and St. Kitts normal; Barbados normal to severely dry; St. Vincent slight to moderately dry; St. Lucia normal to moderately dry; Martinique moderate to severely dry; Dominica slightly wet to moderately dry; Guadeloupe slightly dry to moderately wet; Antigua normal to slightly dry; and Anguilla and St. Maarten slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from extremely wet in southwest Guyana to slightly dry in northern Guyana and to moderately wet in southeastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal, while Curacao was normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico was normal to moderately dry, but Hispaniola slightly dry in the north to exceptionally dry in the south and southwest. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in the west and south west to exceptionally dry in the east, but Grand Cayman moderately dry. Western Cuba was moderately dry, while the east was normal to severely dry; and northern Bahamas was normal to moderately dry. Belize ranged from normal in the south to moderately dry in the north.

December 2017 to November 2018

Mixed rainfall conditions were experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean for the twelve month period. Trinidad was normal to extremely wet; Tobago slightly dry to moderately wet; Grenada normal; Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Kitts normal to slightly dry; Martinique normal to slightly wet; Dominica predominantly moderately wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet to moderately dry from west to east; Antigua slightly dry; and St. Maarten moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately wet in southwest Guyana, northwest Suriname, the northern Suriname/French Guiana border, and southeast French Guiana to normal in much of Guyana, southern Suriname and southwest and northeast French Guiana. Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao normal. Apart from the extreme southwest that was slightly dry, Puerto Rico was normal; but Hispaniola ranged from normal in northwest Haiti to exceptionally dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to extremely dry in the east, while Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Apart from west-central and extreme southeastern areas that were slightly dry, Cuba was normal; and northern Bahamas was also normal. Belize was also predominantly normal apart from in the southeast that ranged from slight to severely dry.

Rainfall totals in the islands of the eastern Caribbean were mixed, with many above and below normal amounts. Trinidad ranged from very to extremely wet; Tobago extreme to exceptionally wet; Grenada and St. Vincent moderately wet; Barbados slight to moderately dry; St. Lucia and St. Kitts normal; Martinique normal to exceptionally dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; Antigua moderately dry; and Anguilla and St. Maarten slightly wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from very wet in southern Guyana to exceptionally dry in northern and southeastern French Guiana. Aruba was slightly wet, while Curacao was very to extremely wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal, but Hispaniola ranged from normal in northeastern Dominican Republic to extremely dry ion the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the northwest to moderately wet in the southeast, but Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Cuba ranged from moderately dry to extremely wet, while northern Bahamas was normal to moderately dry. Belize ranged from slightly dry in the southeast to very wet near central areas.

For the three month period, mixed rainfall totals were experienced relative to normal. Trinidad was moderate to extremely wet from north to south; Tobago normal to very wet from west to east; Grenada moderately wet; Barbados normal to very wet from north to southeast; St. Vincent, St. Kitts, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; St. Lucia normal to moderately dry; Martinique normal to extremely dry; Dominica normal to moderately dry; Guadeloupe normal to severely dry; and Antigua slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately wet in the north and south of Guyana to severely dry in northeastern and southeastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal, but Curacao was moderately wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal but Hispaniola from normal in eastern Dominican Republic to exceptionally dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from extremely dry in the northwest to moderately wet in the east, but Grand Cayman was normal. Normal to below normal conditions dominated the islands of the eastern Caribbean over the six month period, with the exception of Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad was slightly dry to very wet from north to south, Tobago moderately dry to slightly wet from west to east; Grenada and St. Kitts normal; Barbados severely dry to normal from northwest to southeast; St. Vincent normal to slightly dry; St. Lucia slight to extremely dry from north to south; Martinique slight to extremely dry from south to north; Dominica slight to moderately dry; Guadeloupe normal to extremely dry from west to east; Antigua moderate to severely dry; and St. marten moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana to normal in northern Guyana and much of Suriname and most of French Guiana. Aruba was normal, but Curacao slight to moderately wet. Puerto Rico was slight to moderately dry, but Hispaniola from slightly dry in northern to eastern Dominican Republic to exceptionally dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from extremely dry in the northwest to moderately wet in the east. Cuba was predominantly normal but with areas of above normal rainfall in the extreme west and south and below normal in the southeast; but northern Bahamas was normal. Conditions in Belize ranged from normal in the south to extremely dry in the north.

November 2017 to October 2018

For the twelve month period, mixed rainfall conditions were experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad ranged from normal in the north to extremely wet in the south; Tobago from slightly dry to moderately wet; Grenada and Dominica normal; Barbados moderately dry to normal from northwest to southeast; St. Lucia and Martinique normal to moderately dry; Guadeloupe normal to exceptionally dry; Antigua moderate to extremely dry; St. Kitts slightly dry; and St. Maarten moderately dry. The Guianas were normal to moderately wet. Aruba was slightly dry, but Curacao normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico was normal, whereas Hispaniola ranged from predominantly normal in the north, to slight to moderately wet in the extreme northwest and southwest, slight to exceptionally dry in the south, and slightly wet in the extreme northeast. Jamaica ranged from slightly dry in the southwest to exceptionally wet in the east, and slightly wet in the extreme west; but Grand Cayman was slightly dry. The majority of Cuba was normal, with the east being slight to moderately wet and some west-central areas being slightly dry. Northern Bahamas ranged from slightly dry to slightly to slightly wet, while Belize ranged from normal to moderately dry in the north, and to severely dry in the
southeast.

Trinidad was normal to moderately wet; Tobago normal to moderately dry; Grenada slightly wet; Barbados normal to moderately dry; St. Vincent, St. Lucia and Anguilla normal; Martinique moderately wet; Dominica from slightly wet in the south to slightly dry in the northeast; and Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Kitts and St. Maarten slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal in northern Guyana and eastern French Guiana to extremely wet at the northern and southern borders of Suriname and French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were moderately dry. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal apart from the extreme southwest that was slightly dry; while Hispaniola ranged from moderately dry at the northern border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic to normal to the east and west. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in northern Jamaica to extremely wet in the west and moderately wet in the east, but Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Conditions in Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to normal in the east, but northern Bahamas was slight to extremely wet. Belize ranged from severely dry in the west to moderately wet in the southeast.

 

December 2017 to May 2018

Mixed conditions were experienced over the six month period in the islands of the eastern Caribbean, with a distinction between the wet south and normal to moderately dry north. Trinidad was moderate to very wet; Tobago and Grenada moderately wet; Barbados normal to moderately wet from southeast to northwest; St. Lucia slightly wet; Martinique moderate to exceptionally wet; Dominica normal to exceptionally wet; Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; Antigua, St. Kitts and Anguilla normal; and St Maarten moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from a predominantly normal Guyana to very wet near the around the northern border of Suriname and French Guiana. Aruba was moderately dry but Curacao normal. Puerto Rico was normal, and Hispaniola predominantly normal, apart from areas in the west that were slight to moderately wet, in the northeast, slightly wet, and slight to moderately dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in the northcentral areas to extremely wet in the west and east and to moderately dry in the south; but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from slight to extremely wet, while northern Bahamas was normal to extremely wet. Belize ranged from normal in the west and north to moderately wet in the east.

 

June 2017 to May 2018

Normal to above normal rainfall was experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean for the twelve month period. Trinidad was normal to exceptionally wet from the southwest to east; Tobago slight to moderately wet; Grenada and Barbados very wet; St. Lucia and Martinique normal to slightly wet; Dominica extreme to exceptionally wet; Guadeloupe very wet to normal from west to east; Antigua slightly dry; St. Kitts slightly wet; and Anguilla normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from extremely dry in northern Guyana to very wet in northern Suriname, with normal in many parts of all three countries . Aruba was slightly dry but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to exceptionally wet in the northeast; but Hispaniola was from normal in central areas to moderately wet in the west, extremely wet in the east and moderately dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to extremely wet in the north; but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from normal in west-central areas to extremely wet in the west and exceptionally wet in the east; but northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet. Belize was predominantly normal apart from the extreme south and north that were slight to moderately wet.

Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal in eastern French Guiana and north-central Guyana to very wet in southern Guyana and to exceptionally wet at the northern border of Suriname and French Guiana. Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from exceptionally wet in the northeast to normal in the east, while conditions in Hispaniola ranged from slightly wet in the southeast to moderately dry in the north. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to slightly dry in the east, but Grand Cayman was normal. February to April 2018

For the three month period, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced mixed rainfall conditions. Trinidad and Barbados was normal to very wet; Tobago normal to slightly wet; Grenada very to extremely wet; St. Vincent normal to moderately wet; St. Lucia, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; Martinique moderately wet; Dominica normal to very wet; Guadeloupe normal to slightly dry; Antigua slightly dry; and St. Kitts moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal over most of Guyana and French Guiana to very wet at the northern Suriname/French Guiana border. Curacao was moderately wet. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from very wet in the west to slightly wet in the east, but Hispaniola though predominantly normal, experienced slight to moderate wetness in northern Dominican Republic and slightly dry conditions in the south of the island and northwest Haiti. Jamaica ranged from normal to moderately wet from south to north, but Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Western Cuba was normal to moderately dry, while eastern Cuba was normal to moderately wet. Conditions in northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet, but Belize ranged from normal near central areas to extremely wet in the north and moderately wet in the south.

 

 

November 2017 to April 2018

There was a distinction in rainfall totals between the northern and southern islands of the eastern Caribbean for the six month period. Trinidad, Tobago and Grenada were moderately wet; Barbados, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; St. Lucia normal to slightly wet; Martinique normal to moderately wet; Dominica moderate to exceptionally wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet to severely dry; Antigua moderately dry; and St. Kitts slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately dry in western Guyana to moderately wet at the northern Suriname/French Guiana border and northern French Guiana. Curacao was normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from extremely wet in the west to moderately wet in the east; and in Hispaniola ranged from normal in the south to extremely wet in the northeast and northwest. In Jamaica, conditions ranged from moderately dry in the south to exceptionally wet in the north, but Grand Cayman was normal. Rainfall in western Cuba was normal, but the east was slight to exceptionally wet, while northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to very wet. Belize was predominantly normal to slightly wet.
