Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of April. Trinidad ranged from severely dry in the extreme southeast to moderately wet in northern areas; Tobago moderately wet to normal; Grenada, Barbados, Guadeloupe, St Croix normal; Saint Lucia normal to very wet; Martinique and St Maarten normal to moderately dry; Dominica predominantly normal with slightly wet areas in the extreme south; Antigua and St Kitts slight to moderately dry; Anguilla normal to slightly dry and St Thomas slightly wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal to extremely wet. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly wet areas in the northwest. Hispaniola ranged from slightly wet in southeastern Haiti to extremely dry in southeastern Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in south central areas to moderately dry in the west and slightly dry in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from normal in western and eastern areas to extremely dry in the northeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet, and Belize ranged from predominantly normal to moderately dry in the west and to very wet in the north.
February to April 2021
The islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced mixed conditions throughout the three month period. Trinidad ranged from extreme to slightly wet; Tobago, Saint Lucia and Dominica normal to moderately wet; Grenada moderately wet; Barbados and St Thomas normal; Martinique predominantly normal to slightly wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet in the west to moderately dry in the east; Antigua and St Kitts moderate to severely dry; St Maarten severely dry to normal, Anguilla slightly dry to slightly wet and St Croix moderate to slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal and Curacao ranged from moderate to very wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly dry conditions in the southeast. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in southeastern areas to very wet in northwestern Dominican Republic. Jamaica and Grand Cayman were normal. Cuba ranged from slightly dry in the extreme west and normal in the extreme east to exceptionally dry in the north. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to extremely dry and Belize ranged from normal in central areas to severely dry in the west and moderately wet in the north.
November 2020 to April 2021
Conditions were mixed over the six month period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad ranged from extremely wet in the southeast to slightly dry in the northwest; Tobago and Barbados normal to slightly wet; Grenada, Antigua and St Thomas normal; Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Martinique slightly wet to severely dry; Dominica severely dry to extremely wet; St Kitts and St Maarten normal to severely dry; Anguilla slightly dry to moderately wet and St Croix moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from slight to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal. Curacao ranged from moderate to very wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly dry conditions in southern areas. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in the extreme south of the Dominican Republic to moderately wet in the northwest of the island. Jamaica ranged from normal to moderately wet west to east. Grand Cayman was slightly wet. Cuba ranged from moderately dry in west central areas to normal in the extreme west and to very wet in the extreme east. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to slightly dry. Belize ranged from slightly dry in the southwest to exceptionally wet in eastern and northern areas.
May 2020 to April 2021
Over the twelve month period conditions were predominantly normal to below normal throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad predominantly normal ranging to moderately wet in the extreme southwest; Tobago, Antigua, St Thomas and Anguilla normal; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados normal to moderately wet; Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe slightly dry to normal; Martinique normal to severely dry; Dominica severely dry to slightly wet; St Kitts slight to moderately dry; St Maarten moderately dry to normal and St Croix moderately dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal and Curacao slightly wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly dry conditions in the extreme southeast. Hispaniola was predominantly normal ranging to extremely dry in the extreme southeast of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the west to extremely wet in the north. Grand Cayman was normal to slightly wet. Cuba ranged from normal in east central areas to extremely wet in the west and to very wet in the southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from slight to exceptionally wet and Belize was severely dry in the southwest to exceptionally wet in the north.
May 2019 to April 2021
Conditions in the eastern Caribbean were mostly normal to below normal over the two year period in the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad, Tobago and St Kitts ranged from normal to moderately dry; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados slight to moderately dry; Saint Lucia severe to exceptionally dry; Martinique and Dominica normal to severely dry; Guadeloupe normal to exceptionally dry; Antigua normal; St Maarten and St Thomas normal to slightly dry; Anguilla normal to slightly wet and St Croix moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal to slightly dry and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the extreme southwestern tip to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from normal over most of Haiti to exceptionally dry in east central Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to moderately dry in the west and to slightly wet in a small area in the north. Grand Cayman was moderate to slightly dry. Cuba ranged from normal in west central and southeastern areas to moderately wet in the west and north and slightly wet in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to extremely dry. Belize ranged from normal in central areas to exceptionally dry in the west and to moderately dry in the south and north.
