August 2022

Mixed conditions prevailed throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of August. Trinidad slightly dry to exceptionally wet southwest to northeast; Tobago exceptionally wet; Grenada, Martinique and St Maarten slightly wet to predominantly normal; Barbados and Antigua normal; St Vincent and Guadeloupe slightly dry to normal; Saint Lucia and St Croix moderately wet; Dominica normal to moderately wet; St Kitts moderately dry; Anguilla slight to moderately wet and St Thomas extremely wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal to very wet. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico ranged from normal in the extreme west to extremely wet in the northeast. Hispaniola ranged from normal in the west to very wet on the north and to moderately dry in the east.  Jamaica ranged from predominantly normal to extremely wet in northwestern areas. Grand Cayman was slightly dry. Cuba ranged from exceptionally dry in the north to normal in the east and west, and to slightly wet in the extreme southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from severely dry to normal and Belize ranged from moderately dry in the south to exceptionally wet in northeastern areas.

June to August 2022

Mixed conditions were experienced over the three-month period across the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad and Saint Lucia ranged from moderate to exceptionally wet; Tobago exceptionally wet; Grenada and Martinique moderately wet to normal; Barbados slightly dry to predominantly normal; St Vincent exceptional to slightly dry; Dominica normal; Guadeloupe normal to severely dry; Antigua slightly dry; St Kitts moderate to severely dry; St Maarten moderately dry to normal; Anguilla and St Croix predominantly normal to slightly wet and St Thomas moderately wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to moderately dry. Aruba was moderate to slightly wet and curacao was predominantly slightly wet to normal. Puerto Rico was predominantly moderately wet ranging to very wet in the north with slightly wet conditions in the extreme west. Hispaniola ranged from very wet in central Dominican Republic to severely dry in the extreme southwest and to moderately dry in the extreme east. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to slightly wet in the northwest and to moderately dry in the extreme east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in the extreme north to moderately dry in the west and east. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately wet to normal and Belize ranged from moderately dry in the west to very wet on the northeast.

March to August 2022

Over the six-month period mixed conditions were observed across the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad extreme to slightly wet; Tobago exceptionally wet; Grenada slightly wet to normal; Barbados, Dominica and St Thomas normal; St Vincent exceptional to moderately dry; Saint Lucia normal to moderately wet; Martinique normal to moderately dry; Guadeloupe slight to severely dry; Antigua and St Croix predominantly moderate to slightly dry; St Kitts moderate to extremely dry; St Maarten extremely dry to normal and Anguilla slightly dry to slightly wet. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to slightly dry. Aruba was normal and Curacao slightly wet. Puerto Rico was normal. Hispaniola ranged from severely dry in southern areas of Haiti to very wet in east central Dominican Republic. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to moderately wet in the northwest and to slightly dry in southern and eastern areas. Grand Cayman was predominantly normal, ranging to slightly dry. Cuba ranged from very wet in the extreme north and southeast to slightly dry in the west and normal in the extreme east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize ranged from moderately dry in the west to exceptionally wet in the northeast.

September 2021 to August 2022

Though predominantly normal to below normal conditions were experienced across the islands of the eastern Caribbean over the twelve-month period, Trinidad was exceptionally wet to normal, and Tobago moderate to slightly wet and Anguilla moderately wet to normal. Grenada was normal to moderately dry; Barbados extreme to slightly dry; St Vincent exceptional to severely dry; Saint Lucia  and St Kitts slight to severely dry; Martinique extreme to severely dry; Dominica predominantly moderate to severely dry on the  northeastern border; Guadeloupe moderate to exceptionally dry; Antigua extreme to exceptionally dry; St Maarten extremely dry to normal; St Croix slight to moderately dry and St Thomas predominantly normal to slightly wet in the north. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from slightly dry to exceptionally wet. Aruba was slightly dry and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal with slightly dry conditions in the extreme southwest and slightly wet areas in the north. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally dry in the extreme southwest of Haiti to normal in northern areas. Jamaica was mostly normal ranging to extremely dry in the east. Grand Cayman was slightly dry to normal west to east. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in the north to exceptionally dry in the west and to moderately dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to slightly dry south to north and Belize was slightly dry in the south and western areas to extremely wet in the northeast.

September 2020 to August 2022

Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal and Curacao was normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal ranging to slightly wet in the northwest. Hispaniola was predominantly normal, ranging to exceptionally dry in the extreme south.
