June 2023

Mixed conditions were seen throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of June. Trinidad was exceptionally wet to moderately dry; Grenada very to moderately wet; Barbados and St Maarten moderately wet to normal; St Vincent, Antigua and St Thomas normal; Saint Lucia slightly wet in the south to predominantly normal; Martinique slightly wet to slightly dry; Dominica and St Kitts slight to moderately dry; Guadeloupe predominantly normal to slightly dry; Anguilla slight to predominantly moderately wet and St Croix moderately wet. In the Guianas, conditions were mostly normal ranging to extremely wet extreme north of Guyana and to exceptionally dry in northeastern French Guiana. Aruba was slight to moderately dry and Curacao was moderately dry. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately wet in the southwest to moderately dry on the northeastern coastline. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally wet in the south to severely dry in the extreme east. Jamaica ranged from extremely wet in the northwest to slightly wet in the east. Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptional to moderately wet and Belize was normal in the south ranging to moderately dry in the north and to exceptionally dry in the west.

April to June 2023

During the three month period, conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to below normal. Trinidad ranged from exceptionally wet to normal; Grenada moderately wet to normal; Barbados, Saint Lucia and Antigua normal; St Vincent moderate to slightly dry; Martinique and Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; Dominica moderately dry; St Kitts and St Thomas moderate to slightly dry; St Maarten and St Croix slightly dry to normal and Anguilla normal to slightly wet. In the Guianas, mostly normal conditions prevailed with very wet conditions experienced in the extreme northeastern coast of Guyana and severely dry conditions in southeastern French Guiana. Aruba ranged from moderate to severely dry and Curacao was extremely dry. Puerto Rico was moderately wet in the south ranging to slightly dry in the northeast. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally wet in areas spanning from central and southern areas of Haiti to southwestern areas of the Dominican Republic, and to extremely dry in east central Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet to normal west to east. Grand Cayman was predominantly slightly dry to normal south to north. Northern Bahamas was exceptional to moderately wet and Belize normal in the south ranging to moderately dry in the north and to exceptionally dry along the eastern coastline.

 

January to June 2023

Mostly normal to below normal conditions were experienced over the six month period in the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was exceptionally wet to normal southeast to northwest; Grenada slightly wet to normal; Barbados, St. Kitts, Anguilla and St Thomas slightly dry to normal; St Vincent severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Antigua normal; Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to severely dry; St Maarten moderately dry to normal and St Croix moderately dry. Most of the Guianas ranged from normal to moderately wet, but with conditions in French Guiana ranging from exceptionally wet in northwestern areas to severely dry in the southeast. Aruba was normal and Curacao was predominantly slightly dry to normal. Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the south to normal in the north. Hispaniola ranged from exceptionally wet in southern areas to exceptionally dry in central areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica and Grand Cayman were normal. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize ranged from normal in the extreme south to exceptionally dry in northeastern areas.

 

July 2022 to June 2023

Mixed conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean over the twelve month period. Trinidad ranged from moderately wet in the west to mostly exceptionally wet in the east; Grenada slightly wet to normal; Barbados moderately dry in the south to predominantly normal; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Martinique slightly wet to moderately dry; Dominica moderately dry to moderately wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet to normal; Antigua, Anguilla, St Croix and St Thomas normal; St Kitts and St Maarten normal to slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal. Aruba was normal and Curacao normal to predominantly slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from extremely wet in the west to slightly wet in the east. Hispaniola ranged from moderately wet on the southern Haiti/Dominican Republic border to normal in the west and east. Jamaica was predominantly normal ranging to slightly dry in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally wet to normal and Belize slightly dry in the south and eastern areas to normal.

 

July 2021 to June 2023

 

Apart from in the south, predominantly normal to below normal conditions prevailed over the two year period in the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was exceptionally wet; Grenada and St Thomas normal; Barbados severely dry to normal; St Vincent, Martinique and Antigua severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Anguilla slightly dry to predominantly normal; Dominica moderately dry to normal; Guadeloupe normal to exceptionally dry; St Kitts and St Maarten slight to moderately dry with St. Kitts predominantly slightly dry and St. Maarten predominantly moderately dry and St Croix moderately dry. In the Guianas, exceptionally wet conditions dominated in Guyana and French Guiana, with exceptionally wet to moderately dry conditions in Suriname. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico was mostly normal with moderately dry conditions in the southeast and moderately wet areas in the extreme northwest. Hispaniola was predominantly normal with slight to moderately dry conditions in the extreme southwest of Haiti. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet in the west to extremely dry in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was normal in central areas ranging to severely dry in the south and the north.

Trinidad ranged from 0.25 o C warmer to 0.25 o C cooler;  Grenada was between 0 and 0.75 o C warmer;  Barbados was between 0.75 o C cooler to 1.50 o C  warmer; Saint Lucia was between 1.50 o C to 0.25 o C warmer;  Martinique, Dominica, St Thomas and St Croix were 0.25 to 0.75 o C  warmer; Guadeloupe was between 0.75 o C warmer to 0.25 o C cooler; Antigua was between 0.25 and 0.75 o C cooler;  St Kitts was between 0 and 0.25 o C cooler; St Maarten was between 0 to 0.25 o C warmer; . Temperatures in the Guianas , ranged from 0 to 1.50 o C warmer. Aruba was between 0.25 and 0.75 o C warmer and Curacao between 0.25 and 1.50 o C cooler. Puerto Rico ranged from between 0 to 0.75 o C warmer. The Dominican Republic was between 0 to 0.25 o C warmer. Jamaica ranged from 1.50 o C warmer in the west to 1.50 o C cooler in the east. Grand Cayman was  0.25 to  0.75 o C warmer. Northern Bahamas was  0.25  to  2.50 o C warmer, and Belize was predominantly warmer than usual ranging from 0 to 1.50 o C warmer, with a small area in the northeast border ranging to 0.25 o C cooler.

February to April 2023

There were mixed conditions for February to April 2023 throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad ranged from 0.25 o C warmer to predominantly between 0 and 0.25 o C cooler;  Barbados ranged from 0.25 o C cooler to 1.50 o C warmer; Grenada was predominantly between 0 to 0.25 o C warmer ranging to 0.75 o C warmer in the north; Saint Lucia was between 0.25 to 0.75 o C warmer; Martinique was predominantly between 0 and 0.25 o C warmer ranging to 0.25 o C cooler in the north; Dominica was between 0 and 0.25 o C cooler; Guadeloupe and St Kitts ranged from 0 o C to predominantly between 0.25 and 0.75 o C cooler; St Maarten was between 0.25 warmer and 0.25 o C cooler;  Antigua was between 0.25 to 0.75 o C cooler; St Croix was between 0 to 0.25 o C warmer; and St Thomas ranged from 0 to predominantly between 0.25 to 0.75 o C warmer.  The Guianas  ranged  from 0.25 o C cooler to 0.75 o C warmer. November 2022 to April 2023

Temperature anomalies were mixed over the six-month period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Predominantly normal to below normal conditions were seen throughout the islands of the eastern Caribbean during the month of May. Trinidad and Grenada were predominantly normal ranging to slightly wet; Barbados, Dominica and Guadeloupe moderately dry to normal; St Vincent and Martinique moderate to slightly dry; Saint Lucia, St Maarten, Anguilla and St Thomas normal; Antigua predominantly normal to slightly dry; St Kitts moderately dry and St Croix predominantly moderate to severely dry. In the Guianas, conditions were mostly normal, ranging to moderately wet in the vicinity of the northern Guyana/Suriname border, and to moderately dry in northeastern French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were moderate to slightly dry. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal, but slightly wet in the extreme west. The Dominican Republic ranged from moderately wet in the west and extreme east to extremely dry in central areas. Jamaica ranged from exceptionally dry in the west to moderately wet in the north and to normal in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the extreme west and southeast to normal in west central and eastern areas. Northern Bahamas ranged from extremely wet to normal and Belize ranged from normal in central areas to severely dry in the south and to slightly dry in the northeast.

March to May 2023

Apart from Trinidad that was mostly slightly wet to normal, conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were predominantly normal to below normal during the three month period.; Grenada was normal to slightly dry; Barbados, Guadeloupe, St Kitts, St Maarten and Anguilla slightly dry to normal; St Vincent and St Croix extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Antigua normal; Martinique and Dominica slight to moderately dry; St Thomas slight to moderately dry. In the Guianas, conditions were mostly normal, ranging to extremely wet in northeastern Guyana and to exceptionally dry in southeastern French Guiana. Aruba was normal and Curacao moderately dry. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal ranging to moderately wet in the southeast. The Dominican Republic ranged from moderately wet in the west and east to exceptionally dry in central areas. Jamaica was predominantly normal, ranging to moderately dry in the south. Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in western areas to slightly dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was slightly dry in central areas ranging to extremely dry in the south and to moderately dry in the north.

December 2022 to May 2023

Mostly normal to below normal conditions were seen throughout the eastern Caribbean over the six month period. Trinidad and Grenada were normal to slightly dry; Barbados and St Maarten severely dry to normal; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Antigua normal; Martinique slight to extremely dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe normal to extremely dry; St Kitts normal to moderately dry; Anguilla moderately dry to normal and St Thomas moderate to slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet in the vicinity of the northern Suriname/French Guiana border to moderately dry in southeastern French Guiana.  Aruba and curacao were normal. Puerto Rico was moderately dry in the west to normal in the east. The Dominican Republic ranged from normal in the west and east to exceptionally dry in central areas. Jamaica ranged from severely dry in the south to normal in the west and slightly dry in the east. Grand Cayman was slightly wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to moderately dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from extremely wet to normal and Belize was mostly normal ranging to severely dry in the northeast.

June 2022 to May 2023

Mixed conditions were experienced over the twelve year period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was exceptionally wet; Grenada slightly wet to normal; Barbados moderately dry to normal; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia was predominantly moderately wet, ranging from normal to very wet; Martinique slightly wet to moderately dry; Dominica normal to moderately wet; Guadeloupe slightly wet to slightly dry; Antigua, Anguilla, St Croix and St Thomas normal; St Kitts and St Maarten slightly dry to normal. The Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal. Aruba was normal and curacao slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from extremely wet in the extreme northwest to normal in the east. The Dominican Republic was predominantly normal with slightly wet conditions on the northern coastline and eastern areas. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the south to normal in the northwest. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to severely dry in the east. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was predominantly normal, ranging from extremely dry in the south to slightly wet in the southeast.

Over the three month period conditions throughout the eastern Caribbean were mostly normal to below normal. Trinidad ranged from moderately wet to normal; Grenada moderate to severely dry; Barbados, St Maarten and Anguilla moderate to slightly dry; St Vincent extreme to moderately dry; Saint Lucia normal to slightly wet; Martinique and Dominica normal to moderately dry; Guadeloupe predominantly normal to moderately dry; Antigua slightly wet; St Kitts predominantly normal to slightly dry; St Croix slight to severely dry and St Thomas predominantly normal to slightly dry in the east. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to extremely dry in French Guiana, to very wet in portions of Guyana and Suriname. Aruba was normal and Curacao ranged from slightly dry to normal. Puerto Rico ranged from very wet in the southeast to severely dry in the northwest. Hispaniola was mostly normal ranging to slightly dry in the extreme west of Haiti and to moderately dry in central areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from extremely wet in the west to normal in the east and to extremely dry in the north. Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the extreme west to extremely dry in the southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize ranged from normal in the south to severely dry in the east.

November 2022 to April 2023

Mixed conditions were seen throughout the eastern Caribbean over the six month period. Trinidad ranged from normal to extremely wet west to east; Grenada predominantly normal to slightly dry; Barbados and Martinique severely dry to normal; St Vincent severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia, Antigua and Anguilla normal to slightly wet; Dominica moderately wet to moderately dry; Guadeloupe moderately wet to severely dry; St Kitts, St Maarten and St Thomas predominantly normal to slightly dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from exceptionally wet to slightly dry. Aruba was normal and Curacao was normal to predominantly slightly wet.  Puerto Rico ranged from severely dry in the extreme west to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from severely dry in the extreme west of Haiti to normal in the eastern and southern areas of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to exceptionally dry in northern areas. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to exceptionally dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet and Belize was moderately wet in eastern areas ranging to extremely dry in the north.

May 2022 to April 2023

Over the twelve month period conditions were mixed throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was moderate to exceptionally wet; Grenada, Antigua, St Croix, St Thomas and Anguilla normal; Barbados moderately dry to normal; St Vincent severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia normal to moderately wet; Martinique slightly wet to moderately dry; Dominica and Guadeloupe slightly wet to normal; St Kitts and St Maarten normal to slightly dry. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from normal to exceptionally wet. Aruba was normal and Curacao was slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately wet in northwestern areas to normal in the east. Hispaniola ranged from severely dry in western areas of Haiti to slightly wet on the northeastern coastline of the Dominican Republic. Apart from in the extreme northwest that was slightly dry, Jamaica was mostly moderately dry.  Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet on the extreme western coast and central areas to severely dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was mostly normal ranging from exceptionally dry in the south to very wet in the east and slightly wet in the north.

May 2021 to April 2023

Predominantly normal to below normal conditions prevailed throughout the eastern Caribbean over the two year period, with the exception of islands in the south, including Trinidad which was exceptionally wet and Grenada which was slightly wet in the south, but mostly normal. Barbados was severely dry to normal; St Vincent and Martinique severe to moderately dry; Saint Lucia and Anguilla slightly dry to predominantly normal; Dominica moderately dry to normal; Guadeloupe normal to exceptionally dry; Antigua severe to extremely dry; St Kitts slightly dry; St Maarten moderate to slightly dry; St Croix moderately dry and St Thomas normal. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from predominantly exceptionally wet in Guyana, French Guiana and southern and eastern areas of Suriname to exceptionally dry in the vicinity of the northern Suriname/French Guiana border. Aruba was normal and Curacao normal to slightly wet. Puerto Rico ranged from mostly normal to moderately dry in the southeast and to moderately wet in the northwest. Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in the southwest of Haiti to normal in the north of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica was normal in central areas ranging to slightly dry in the west and to exceptionally dry in the east. Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in the west to severely dry in west central areas and to moderately dry in the east. Northern Bahamas was exceptionally wet to normal and Belize was predominantly normal, ranging to severely dry in the south and to moderately dry in the north and to moderately wet in the east.
