Normal to below normal rainfall was experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean for June. Trinidad was normal to severely dry; Tobago moderate to severely dry; Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent moderately dry; St. Lucia and Dominica normal to moderately dry; Martinique, St. Kitts and Anguilla normal; Guadeloupe normal to extremely dry; Antigua severe to extremely dry; and St. Maarten extremely dry. Conditions in Guyana ranged from extremely wet in parts of western Guyana to severely dry in north central French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were normal, but Puerto Rico normal to slightly dry. Conditions in Hispaniola ranged from extremely dry in southern Dominican Republic to normal in the north and slightly wet in the east. Jamaica ranged from slightly dry in the southwest to exceptionally dry in the north, but Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Cuba ranged from normal in central areas to exceptionally dry in the west and southeast, while northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet. Belize was normal to moderately dry from south to north.

April to June 2018

For the three month period, apart from Martinique that was moderately wet and a slight to moderately wet southern Trinidad, rainfall in the islands of the eastern Caribbean was normal to below. Tobago was slight to moderately dry; Grenada slightly dry; Barbados moderate to severely dry; St. Vincent, Antigua and St. Maarten moderately dry; St. Lucia normal to slightly dry; Dominica, St. Kitts and Anguilla normal; Guadeloupe slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal in northern Guyana and parts of French Guiana to exceptionally wet in southern Guyana. Aruba and Curacao were slightly dry, while Puerto Rico was normal in the west and slightly dry in the east. Conditions in Hispaniola ranged from severely dry in the south to normal in the west and east, while Jamaica was predominantly normal apart from the extreme west that was slight to extremely wet, slight to moderately wet in the east, and slight to moderately dry in the north; but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from extremely wet in the west to normal in the east and slightly dry in the southeast, while northern Bahamas was slight to exceptionally wet. Conditions in Belize ranged from slightly wet to severely dry.

January to June 2018

Mixed conditions were experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean for the six month period. Trinidad, Tobago, St. Lucia and Anguilla were normal; Grenada slightly wet; Barbados normal to slightly wet; Martinique moderately dry; Dominica very wet to normal from southwest to northeast; Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Antigua and St. Maarten moderately dry; and St. Kitts normal to slightly dry. Most of the Guianas were normal to slightly wet, with moderately wet conditions in the extreme southwest of Guyana. Aruba was slightly dry but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from extremely dry in the west to slightly wet in the east, but Hispaniola ranged from moderately dry in the south to slightly wet in the west and northeast. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the south to very wet in the west and moderately wet in the east, while Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from normal to extremely wet and northern Bahamas slight to extremely wet. Belize was predominantly normal.

July 2017 to June 2018

Though most of the islands of the eastern Caribbean received normal to above normal rainfall for the twelve month period, Antigua was moderately dry. Trinidad ranged from normal in the west to exceptionally wet in the extreme east; Tobago and Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet; Grenada and Martinique normal to slightly wet; Barbados moderate to slightly wet from west to east; St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Anguilla normal; and Dominica moderate to extremely wet. Conditions in Guyana ranged from moderately dry in northern Guyana to moderately wet in northern Suriname, eastern French Guyana and south western Guyana. Aruba was slightly dry but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the south to extremely wet in the north, while Hispaniola ranged from moderately dry in the south to extremely wet in northern Dominican Republic and very wet in the northwest. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from slightly dry in the south to very wet in the north, but Grand Cayman was normal. Conditions in Cuba ranged from normal in west central areas to exceptionally wet in the east, while northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from slight to moderately dry at the northern Suriname-French Guiana border to exceptionally wet in southern Guyana. Aruba was severely dry while Curacao was normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from normal in the north to moderately wet to the south, but Hispaniola was normal from east and west to moderately dry to the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in central areas to very wet in the east and extremely wet in the west, while Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to normal in the southeast, while northern Bahamas moderately to extremely wet. Conditions in Belize ranged from severely dry in the south to very wet in the southeast.

March to May 2018

For the three month period mixed conditions were experienced in the islands of the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was normal to moderately wet; Tobago normal to moderately dry; Grenada slightly wet; Barbados normal to moderately dry; St. Vincent, St. Lucia and Anguilla normal; Martinique moderately wet; Dominica from slightly wet in the south to slightly dry in the northeast; and Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Kitts and St. Maarten slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal in northern Guyana and eastern French Guiana to extremely wet at the northern and southern borders of Suriname and French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were moderately dry. Puerto Rico was predominantly normal apart from the extreme southwest that was slightly dry; while Hispaniola ranged from moderately dry at the northern border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic to normal to the east and west. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in northern Jamaica to extremely wet in the west and moderately wet in the east, but Grand Cayman was moderately wet. Conditions in Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to normal in the east, but northern Bahamas was slight to extremely wet. Belize ranged from severely dry in the west to moderately wet in the southeast.

 

December 2017 to May 2018

Mixed conditions were experienced over the six month period in the islands of the eastern Caribbean, with a distinction between the wet south and normal to moderately dry north. Trinidad was moderate to very wet; Tobago and Grenada moderately wet; Barbados normal to moderately wet from southeast to northwest; St. Lucia slightly wet; Martinique moderate to exceptionally wet; Dominica normal to exceptionally wet; Guadeloupe normal to moderately dry; Antigua, St. Kitts and Anguilla normal; and St Maarten moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from a predominantly normal Guyana to very wet near the around the northern border of Suriname and French Guiana. Aruba was moderately dry but Curacao normal. Puerto Rico was normal, and Hispaniola predominantly normal, apart from areas in the west that were slight to moderately wet, in the northeast, slightly wet, and slight to moderately dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from normal in the northcentral areas to extremely wet in the west and east and to moderately dry in the south; but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from slight to extremely wet, while northern Bahamas was normal to extremely wet. Belize ranged from normal in the west and north to moderately wet in the east.

 

June 2017 to May 2018

Conditions in the Guianas ranged from extremely dry in northern Guyana to very wet in northern Suriname, with normal in many parts of all three countries . Aruba was slightly dry but Curacao normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to exceptionally wet in the northeast; but Hispaniola was from normal in central areas to moderately wet in the west, extremely wet in the east and moderately dry in the south. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately dry in the southwest to extremely wet in the north; but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from normal in west-central areas to extremely wet in the west and exceptionally wet in the east; but northern Bahamas was normal to moderately wet. Belize was predominantly normal apart from the extreme south and north that were slight to moderately wet.

Rainfall in the islands of the eastern Caribbean was predominantly normal to above. Trinidad was normal to moderately wet from north to south; Tobago, Grenada, and Dominica normal to slightly wet; Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Kitts, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; and Martinique moderate to very wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal in eastern French Guiana and north-central Guyana to very wet in southern Guyana and to exceptionally wet at the northern border of Suriname and French Guiana. Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from exceptionally wet in the northeast to normal in the east, while conditions in Hispaniola ranged from slightly wet in the southeast to moderately dry in the north. Conditions in Jamaica ranged from moderately wet in the west to slightly dry in the east, but Grand Cayman was normal. Cuba ranged from very wet in east central areas to normal in the west and moderately dry in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from slight to extremely wet, while Belize ranged from normal in central areas to extremely wet in the north and moderately wet in the south.

February to April 2018

For the three month period, the islands of the eastern Caribbean experienced mixed rainfall conditions. Trinidad and Barbados was normal to very wet; Tobago normal to slightly wet; Grenada very to extremely wet; St. Vincent normal to moderately wet; St. Lucia, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; Martinique moderately wet; Dominica normal to very wet; Guadeloupe normal to slightly dry; Antigua slightly dry; and St. Kitts moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from normal over most of Guyana and French Guiana to very wet at the northern Suriname/French Guiana border. Curacao was moderately wet. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from very wet in the west to slightly wet in the east, but Hispaniola though predominantly normal, experienced slight to moderate wetness in northern Dominican Republic and slightly dry conditions in the south of the island and northwest Haiti. Jamaica ranged from normal to moderately wet from south to north, but Grand Cayman was moderately dry. Western Cuba was normal to moderately dry, while eastern Cuba was normal to moderately wet. Conditions in northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet, but Belize ranged from normal near central areas to extremely wet in the north and moderately wet in the south.

 

 

November 2017 to April 2018

There was a distinction in rainfall totals between the northern and southern islands of the eastern Caribbean for the six month period. Trinidad, Tobago and Grenada were moderately wet; Barbados, Anguilla and St. Maarten normal; St. Lucia normal to slightly wet; Martinique normal to moderately wet; Dominica moderate to exceptionally wet; Guadeloupe moderately wet to severely dry; Antigua moderately dry; and St. Kitts slightly dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from moderately dry in western Guyana to moderately wet at the northern Suriname/French Guiana border and northern French Guiana. Curacao was normal. Conditions in Puerto Rico ranged from extremely wet in the west to moderately wet in the east; and in Hispaniola ranged from normal in the south to extremely wet in the northeast and northwest. In Jamaica, conditions ranged from moderately dry in the south to exceptionally wet in the north, but Grand Cayman was normal. Rainfall in western Cuba was normal, but the east was slight to exceptionally wet, while northern Bahamas ranged from moderately dry to very wet. Belize was predominantly normal to slightly wet.

Northern Bahamas was normal to slightly wet, but Belize was normal in central areas to moderately wet to the north and south.
