August 2024

Predominantly normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean during the month of August. Trinidad was severely dry to normal; Tobago, Grenada, St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Antigua, St Kitts, St Maarten and St Croix normal; Barbados slight to moderately wet; Martinque, Dominica and Anguilla normal to slightly wet; Guadeloupe normal to moderately wet and St Thomas moderate to extremely wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from mostly normal to moderately wet in western Guyana and to moderately dry in central Suriname as well as western and northern French Guiana. Aruba was slightly wet to normal and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry in southern areas to very wet in the northeast. The Dominican Republic was predominantly normal with slightly wet areas around the northern coastline. Jamaica ranged from slightly wet to slightly dry west to east. Cuba ranged from moderately wet in western areas to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from moderately wet to moderately dry and Belize from extremely wet in the south to normal in the north.

June to August 2024

During the three month period, apart from Trinidad that was exceptionally dry in the southwest to moderately wet in the extreme northeast, predominantly normal to above normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean. Tobago was moderately wet; Grenada, St Vincent, Saint Lucia and St Croix normal; Barbados and Martinique slightly wet to normal; Dominica and St. Thomas slightly wet; Guadeloupe and St Kitts slight to moderately wet; Antigua moderate to very wet; St Maarten normal to moderately wet and Anguilla slight to extremely wet. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana to moderately dry in eastern French Guiana. Aruba and Curacao were normal. Puerto Rico was normal. The Dominican Republic was predominantly normal ranging to slightly wet in the south. Jamaica ranged from moderately dry to exceptionally wet from southwest to northeast. Cuba ranged from slightly dry on the northern coastline to exceptionally wet in the west and east. Northern Bahamas was slightly dry to exceptionally wet and Belize moderately dry in the south to slightly wet in the north.

March to August 2024

Apart from St Croix that was extreme to moderately dry and St Thomas slightly dry to normal, mostly normal to above normal conditions were experienced throughout the six month period in the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad and Grenada were normal to moderately wet; Tobago slightly wet to normal; Barbados, Dominica and Antigua normal to slightly wet; St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Martinique and St Kitts normal; Guadeloupe slightly wet; St Maarten moderate to very wet; Anguilla very wet. In the Guianas, conditions varied from exceptionally wet in southern Guyana to extremely dry in the vicinity of the northern Suriname/ French Guiana border. Aruba was moderately dry and Curacao normal to slightly dry. Puerto Rico ranged from extremely dry in the south to moderately wet in the northwest.  The Dominican Republic was mostly normal ranging to moderately wet in the extreme south and east. Jamaica was extremely dry in central areas ranging to moderately dry in the west and east. Cuba ranged from exceptionally wet in the west to slightly dry in the extreme southeast. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet and Belize from severely dry in southern areas to normal in the north.

September 2023 to August 2024

Predominantly normal to below normal conditions were experienced throughout the eastern Caribbean over the twelve month period. Trinidad and Guadeloupe were normal to moderately dry; Tobago and St Croix moderately dry; Grenada, Barbados, Martinique, Dominica, St Maarten and Anguilla normal; St Vincent slightly dry; Saint Lucia and St Thomas slightly dry to normal; Antigua slight to moderately wet and St Kitts slightly wet to normal. In the Guianas, conditions ranged from extremely wet in southwestern Guyana to exceptionally dry in northern Guyana and the border of Suriname/ French Guiana. Aruba was mostly slightly wet to normal and Curacao was normal. Puerto Rico was normal to extremely wet southeast to northwest. The Dominican Republic ranged from normal to very wet from northwest to east. Jamaica was slightly wet to normal. Cuba was exceptionally wet in the west ranging to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from slight to extremely wet and Belize from moderately wet to normal from south to north.

September 2022 to August 2024

Mostly normal conditions were experienced over the two year period throughout the eastern Caribbean. Trinidad was slight to very wet; Tobago very to moderately wet; Grenada, Barbados, St Vincent, Saint Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, St Kitts, St Maarten, Anguilla and St Thomas normal; Guadeloupe mostly normal to slightly dry; Antigua normal to slightly wet and St Croix severe to moderately dry. Conditions in the Guianas ranged from exceptionally wet to severely dry. Aruba and Curacao were slightly wet.  Puerto Rico ranged from moderately dry to moderately wet south to north. The Dominican Republic ranged from slight to extremely wet from west to east. Jamaica was normal. Cuba was extremely dry in west central areas ranging to exceptionally wet in the west and to normal in the east. Northern Bahamas ranged from normal to exceptionally wet and Belize was very wet in the south ranging to severely dry in the north.
